Upstairs Landing
The upstairs landing is quite small. After reaching the top of the stairs there is the bathroom to the left, back bedroom door just in front, main bedroom door front right and the other front bedroom on the right. It only measures xxx by yyy. Painted white throughout with the doors and door frames in their natural wood, although really not very nice wood to be honest. The floor was laminate which is really not nice and looks quite out of place.
Work begins...
The first action was to remove the laminate flooring. To my disappointment, whoever fitted it had removed the skirting and blocks at the bottom of the doors and cut them, and refitted on top of the laminate. Might look okay when keeping laminate but now a lot more work is required before a carpet can be fitted.
Oops!
The little piece of wallpaper between the back bedroom and main front bedroom looked loose. So, started to pick it off and the result is that nearly all the plaster in that section fell off! All back to the laths!
Finishing off the decorating
So with the plastering and other preparation work done, its time for decorating. Upper hallway first and then move around the stairway and down the stairs.
